Lamar Smith: #1 Enemy of Science

The discouraging thing is that Lamar Smith would not be who he is if there were not a good many Americans who are sympathetic to his position. And, indeed, that’s not only discouraging, it is sad, because, alas, whenever a large number of people are disconnected from deep reality in the way these Americans are, reality has a way of reasserting itself, and that usually involves inflicting pain, whether personal, or economic.

Ultimately, in a way, the good thing is, it will not matter. Reality will assert itself, and things will be brought in to a proper perception.

The bad thing is, a lot of people are going to get hurt. And Lamar Smith, the great Christian he pretends himself to be, I’m sure, will have these on his personal conscience. I am not a Christian. I am not a theist. When Lamar Smith realizes that, let him suffer. He deserves it.
