“Polluters will pay”

I’m afraid “new environmentalism” may be a distraction from the triage on environment needed to do the right thing.

I don’t believe in partisanship. My experience with Democrats on environment and, in particular, climate matters, is not as consistent as what the speaker says. Democrats tout believe in climate-related policies, but only to the degree these do not interfere with other issues, such as displacement in jobs, or their support for compensating people who choose to continue to live in coastal areas of high risk at the expense of the general public. It isn’t about government regulation or not, it is about government failing to be consistent in policy, not being subjected to the sloshes back and forth based upon political popularity.

In fact, I think excellent cases can and should be made for addressing climate change causes using strictly market means.
